I am a programmer at Solar Flare London, a small startup company of Brunel University graduates and one of the enterprise teams for Tranzfuser 2021. We are working on Shikari X – a 3D, third-person, Metroidvania, boss-rush title. In this game, players control a robot equipped with a sentient cannon and must defeat 10 Shikari – rival robots piloting colossal mechs equipped with unique gun mods that the player can obtain by defeating them.

I was a level scripter on this project, working on the game through the early white-box stage to final release. I worked with the lead designer to establish tasks and then using the 3D level editor to implement various level and gameplay functionality, including doors, elevators, and platforms; enemy patrol paths; camera placement and fly-through paths. I was also given some freedom to do design and balancing work on the rolling ball mini-game, including the speeds and movement paths of hazards.
